Heaven Is For Real

Some of you may be looking at the title of the blog, and immediately leave. And that is okay with me.

I am a religious person and I usually try to avoid presenting my beliefs to my fans in respect to their choices, but this book made me break my rule.

I was first told about this book from my Pastor, who had read it and claimed it to be a life changing story. The New York Times Bestseller List currently has it on the very top of the Combined Print and E-Book Non Fiction, and I cannot argue with that placement.

Heaven Is For Real, is the story (whether it is true or not is up to you) of a little boy named Colton who, through a near death experience, ascends into Heaven and sees Jesus.

The story begins with the story of how Colton first told his parents' about him seeing Heaven. Then it goes into a brief history of the family and moves on to the troubles with Colton. On a family road trip, the four year old gets extremely sick, and eventually is sent to the hospital. After three different hospitals and a CT scan, they discover that Colton's appendix has burst, and has infected the neighboring organs. They sent him to surgery and tried to patch everything up. According to Colton, he saw Jesus as he was under the knife.

Colton, after recovering from his illness, does not immediately tell his parents. In fact it is not until almost a year later until he begins informing his parents of his out of body experience.

The boy begins telling his parents stories from the Bible that a four year old surely would not have heard. He gives his parents' straight answers quickly when asked about Heaven, and they seem to match almost word for word with the Scripture.

It took me a little over two hours to read this novel. Once the story began, I could not put it down. The author( Colton's dad) did an extremely good job writing, and he kept the simplistic terms( like Heaven Is For Real) from Colton in the text, which I appreciate.

The story was remarkable to me, and I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

Even if you do not believe, I suggest you read it just to read it. It is well written and definitely worth your time. I think you might find the evidence hard to shake your finger at.

In other news, I really need some more followers. I know some of you just read this stupid thing, so why don't you follow it? It makes me look better and it's easier for you. Also, if you do not start writing comments, to criticize (nicely) and suggest, I am going to hunt all of you down and make you. And you know what else, there is a Poll. A freaking poll! VOTE ON IT!!!!! And tell your friends about me :)

New York Times Bestseller List's

Usually when I need ideas for a new book, I go either to the used book store down the street and ask for recommendations or I look at the New York Times Bestseller List's

http://www.nytimes.com/best-sellers-books/overview.html

They have categories from combined print and eBook fiction all the way to children's picture books. I try to look at the list as much as I can to see the newly released books and quite a few times a good read pops out.

I will admit that they can be hard to get at first, but there is a reason they are selling off the shelves. Sometimes a popular author will have a book on the list just because of the name, and unless you prefer that author I suggest you ignore those. It is the smaller, less popular names that make the list worth your time.

So, if you are in need of a good read, you can do one of three things.

1. Go to a local book store and ask
2. Check out the New York Times Bestseller List
3. Follow my blog, e-mail me, and leave comments for recommendations. Here is my e-mail CodyWolf2011@gmail.com. I don't appreciate spam.

Don't forget to vote in my poll on my blog, if you enjoy my blog please follow me and tell your friends, and always leave comments. I can use suggestions or questions.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

First and foremost, I would like to thank Hastings for allowing me to buy this book new for 5 dollars.

Secondly I would like to thank Simon & Schuster for publishing this book

And finally I need to thank Mary Shelley( may she rest in peace) for writing a book that can last throughout the generations.

When I grabbed this book off the shelf, I was expecting more of a horror story than anything else. But in a weird way, the book is a tragic love story ( not ROMANCE).

The protagonist of the story, Victor Frankenstein, is found on a traveling block of ice in the middle of the Arctic Ocean by an adventurer. The whole story is written in a journal by the captain of the ship to his sister. Victor Frankenstein is retelling his story of his creation.

It all begins when Frankenstein discovers the process of creating life. He decides to play God and creates a beastly "human" from spare parts and his mysterious recipe for life.

But after he births his monster, he is appalled by it and banishes it away.

The distressed (and probably scared) beast flees to the woods where he discovers a family residing in a small hut. From watching them, he learns how to read and talk. After a long period of distantly attaching to the family, Frankenstein decides to introduce himself by meeting the blind old father alone. But when the children arrive home they rudely shew him off and he is left alone again.

To solve his loneliness, he decides to return to his creator and force him create a wife for him...... or else.

This book to me, is definitely worth reading. The novel wasn't popular when it first was published, but it is probably one of the most wide- known now, along with Dracula ( which I am reading, it will be rated in a few days). If you pass by this book you are missing out.

I give Frankenstein 4 stars out of 5. It may not be in my top 5 books, but it is for sure in the top 10.

If you don't feel that Frankenstein is a book you will enjoy, read it anyways, then go to the New York Times Bestseller's List and take a look at those titles. Or you could even go to
